I began writing when I was eight years old. Twenty years later I sold my first magazine article. In those intervening 20 years I did many other things but each time I asked myself what I wanted to do with my life, the answer each time came back, without question,
I want to write.
In the ten years following that first sale, I sold many different kinds of writing, taught writing classes, lectured, conceived of and put together writing seminars and made much of my living editing others' work... and yet my writing always lagged behind my goals and plans for it.
It finally occurred to me...
"later" never comes.
Since that realization and through the help of my own coach and a couple of critique groups, I have learned how to
focus my ideas,
figure out my goals
for each project, and
begin and finish them efficiently and profitably.
